Shanghai Tourism Festival, 2015 (Conditions & Info)

September 11-15, 2015
Shanghai Tourism Festival (STF) is a large-scale tourism celebrating event. It is held for more than twenty years since 1990. Now it has become a major festival for Shanghai local residence and become the most important event of Shanghai. We sincerely invite friends from all over the world to arrive in Shanghai on autumn, thus we can share the happiness and joyfulness together. The 26th STF is going to be hold during Sept.11 – 15, 2015. We welcome all kinds of performance ensembles from all over the world to participate in it.The Opening parade is one of the traditional programs on this occasion. Many art ensembles from all over the world will be invited to join the gala.
 
During the 2012-2014 Shanghai Tourism Festival, around 9 million citizens, domestic overseas tourists participated in the different activities ofeach edition. In the evening of the Opening, the leaders from different provinces of the state, and officers from different foreign consulates in Shanghai were present at the ceremony. Participants from countries like The Britain, Greece, Spain, USA, Mexico, Bulgaria, Poland, Brazil, Lithuania, Bahamas, Finland, Korea, India, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Australia, Indonesia, Slovakia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Brunei Thailand and regions of Chinese Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan participated in the opening parade. The event has left a brilliant and happy memory on domestic and foreign tourists and Shanghai public.

We sincerely invite your ensemble to participate in the Grand parade of 2015 Shanghai Tourism Festival Opening Ceremony. This public affair is non-profit and participating groups are not getting any stipend. Accommodations including hotels, meals, and local transportation expenses will be provided by our Committee while the international travelling expenses will be taken care of by your group.

General Schedule of Performances:
Sept.11 - Arrive in Shanghai, Rehearsal in night;
Sept.12 - Opening Ceremony of 26th Shanghai Tourism Festival at 19:30;
Sept.13 - Public show, visiting;
Sept.14 - Public show, visiting;
Sept.15 - Public show, visiting; Departure.

Conditions:
  1. The organizing Committee will only cover the performers' expenditure during the period of STF:
    • City bus (Such as the routes of airport-hotel-airport, hotel-performance venue-hotel) to the days of Sept 11, 12, 13, 14, 15;
    • Accommodations to the night of Sept 11, 12, 13, 14;
    • Daily Meals to the day of Sept 11, 12, 13, 14, 15;
    • Tourist Accident Insurance in Shanghai;
    • A free Visiting in Shanghai
  2. The organizing Committee will NOT undertake:
    • International transportation;
    • Visa;
    • Transportation to/from other city in China;
    • Performers' expenditure besides the STF;
    • Expenditure of Non-performers (guests/spectators/etc);
 
Explanation on Application – Opening Parade of 2015 Shanghai Tourism Festival: 
  1. Arrival time: Not later than Sept. 11, 2015;
  2. Time of formal parade: Sept. 12, 2015;
  3. Group size: 30-80 members per group;
  4. Form of Performances: performance during the parade, such as Wind Band, Marching Band, Flag Brandishing, Folk dance and any other style;
  5. Performing: Standing Performance (Performing on main stage which is in front of VIP area); Parade (Performing along the parade road which has 3 or 4 stops for performances);
  6. Route of Parade: Along the Huaihai Road;
  7. Length of parade: about 2.2kms;
  8. Others: Shanghai Tourism Festival Organizing Committee can also provide participants with other performing places in Shanghai for public performances.
  9. The Organizing Committee of festival will check your information, photos and videos. They will issue the Official letter of Invitation if your group is selected. That invitation letter is the final confirmation of acceptance to your group;

How to Apply:
  1. Please contact with us for requiring the Form of Application (e-mail: festinchina@gmail.com);
  2. Please send us the group introduction, Photos and videos of your group;
  3. The Organizing Committee of festival will check your information and then issuing the Official letter of Invitation. That invitation letter is the final confirmation of acceptance to your group;
  4. We will send you the form of Name List for which we can make the hotel booking and purchase the Tourist Accident Insurance after your group is accepted; 
General information of performance arrangement: STF includes Rehearsal, Standing performance and Marching Parade in the Opening Ceremony, and Public Performances.

The Rehearsal: Aiming to manage your program, music, costumes etc for the opening ceremony of next day. 

The Standing performance: It is the most important show. It is in front of VIP area. Around 2 minutes program for each ensemble. National leaders will present. TV show in live to whole China. Musical accompaniment must be recorded both in CD and USB-stick. This performance must be the best because your performance will be telecasted by TV in live. 
 
The Marching Parade:
After the Standing Performance, you will have parade along the road to perform till the end. The distance will be 1-2 km according to the venue of Opening Ceremony.Musical accompaniment must be recorded both in CD and USB-stick. You may compose different music and total length can be over 20-30 minutes. This music will be played in a portable sound system which is following with your parade. USB-Stick is the best way to avoid the influence of bumpiness when system moves on the ground.


 
The Public Performances (2 or 3 times):The places are arranged in city and county. You will be arranged with other groups from different countries to perform together. Each group can perform 2-3 programs. Your musical accompaniment should be recorded both in CD and USB-stick. You may compose different music together. The total length cannot be more than 20 minutes totally.
 
The Music Accompaniment: The Standing Performance must use the recorded music accompaniment because of the wild performing area and electric sound system will be provided, if your group needs music instruments to perform. But the Public Performances can use music instrument to play lively. The band (such as Pipe band, Orchestra, Drum & Trumpet Corps, Brass Band etc) won’t have to provide recorded music. The STF Organizing committee will require you to provide the music in MP3 format by the end if July, 2014. 

The Music Instruments: We will send you a Form of Declaration of music Instruments. Please fill-in and send it back to me.
